Compatibility

DewanEja11 Spelling Checker and Grammar Checker are compatible with:

  • MS Office 2016, 2019, 2021 and Office 365
  • Windows 10 and 11

Activate DewanEja11 Spelling Checker and Grammar Checker in MS Word

DewanEja11 Spelling and Grammar checker will be automatically activated after a successful installation. However, these settings might be changed after a Windows or MS Office update.

Sometimes, DewanEja11 Spelling and Grammar checker are not functioning in an existing document, due to existing the document’s setting.

CASE 1

DewanEja11 Spell and Grammar Checker is not working in Malay document only.

Indicator

Red curly line (spelling error indicator) or blue curly line (grammatical error indicator) does not visible if the document is set to Malay, but visible if the document is set to English.

Solution

  1. In MS Word, go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
  2. At the bottom (Managed), click on the drop-down menu and select Disabled Items. Click Go.
  3. Inside the Disabled Items window, you should see an Addin item named with “speller ms-my” (refer image below). Select the item, and click Enable button. Close the Disabled Item window.
  4. Return to word document and recheck the document in Malay language.

CASE 2

DewanEja11 Spell and Grammar Checker is not working in an existing document, but work well in a new document.

Indicator

Red curly line (spelling error indicator) or blue curly line (grammatical error indicator) does not visible in an existing document only.

Solution

  1. In MS Word, go to File > Options > Proofing.
  2. Under the Exceptions for, make sure both checkboxes for Hide spelling/grammar errors are unchecked.
  3. Return to word document and recheck the document in Malay language.

CASE 3

DewanEja11 tab is missing.

Indicator

DewanEja11 tab does not appear in the tab list.

Solution

  1. In MS Word, go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
  2. At the bottom (Managed), click on the drop-down menu and select COM Add-ins. Click Go.

3. Inside the COM Add-ins window, make sure both DewanEja11 (Penyemak Ejaan) and DewanEja11
(Terjemahan) are checked. Click OK button.

4. Return to word document and check if DewanEja11 tab has appeared.

5. If DewanEja11 tab still not appear, please run “Baiki DewanEja11”. In the Windows search box, type “Baiki DewanEja11” and click on the suggested apps. Please make sure to close your MS Office application, e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint before run “Baiki DewanEja11”.

6. Open MS Word document and check for the DewanEja11 tab.
